"Dr. Andres of
Ergonomic Engineering, Inc. is an engineer who can easily communicate his
findings in both lay and professional terms. He has provided Sachs, Waldman
& O'Hare with expert testimony in product liability cases, slip and fall
cases, accident reconstruction, and other cases involving biomechanical
issues. His scientific and quantitative background, as well as the breadth of
knowledge supplied by his command of ergonomics, have combined to make his
testimony as an expert witness effective and, in some instances,
compelling."

Robert O. Andres, Ph.D., CPE
Dr. Andres, the founder and president of EEI, was
educated in Bioengineering and Neurophysiology before serving on the faculty
at the Center for Ergonomics, The University of Michigan, from 1980 through
1984. There, he taught ergonomics classes and ran the occupational
biomechanics laboratory for Dr. Don Chaffin while the latter worked on his
seminal text in the field. He joined the faculty of the University of
Massachusetts at Amherst in 1984, where he was initially affiliated with the
Department of Exercise Science; and later with the Department of Industrial
and Operations Research which became the Department of Mechanical and
Industrial Engineering at UMASS. He taught graduate courses in Occupational
Biomechanics at UMASS through 1995.
Dr. Andres has had a lifetime career interest in the effects of challenges
and stresses on the human body. His research has been supported by NASA, NIOSH,
OSHA, and industry. Dr. Andres is a certified professional ergonomist (CPE
from the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics), a professional
member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, and a member of the Human
Factors and Ergonomics Society, the American Society of Biomechanics, the
Group for Engineering in Medicine and Biology of IEEE, the International
Society of Occupational Ergonomics and Safety, the American College of Sports
Medicine, the Society of Automotive Engineers, and the Engineering Section of
the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. Dr. Andres is the leading
authority on ergonomics in the Northeast.
